Terms of Service

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Jodlio, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Jodlio.

2. Who can use Jodlio

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law.

3. Your account

• Give accurate details and keep your email account secure, since we send sign-in codes there.
• You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.
• You can stop using Jodlio and delete your account at any time from your profile.

4. What Jodlio is, and isn’t

Jodlio is a tool for recording and organising money: expenses, budgets, shared bills, group funds and loans between people. Please keep in mind:

• Jodlio does not move money. It is not a bank, payment service, wallet or lender. Payments happen outside Jodlio, by UPI, cash or other means you choose, and Jodlio only records them.
• Jodlio is not financial advice. Budgets, insights and summaries are for your information only.
• Check before you save. Voice entry and suggested categories are prepared automatically and can be wrong. You are responsible for what you confirm.

5. Groups and shared records

• Records you add to a group or share with someone are visible to them. Only add people you know and trust.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of records you add. Jodlio shows what members record; it does not verify that money changed hands.
• Disagreements between members about amounts or payments are between those members. Jodlio’s confirmation, approval and history features are there to help, but we can’t settle disputes.
• Group admins and fund treasurers can manage members, approve payments and change group settings as the app allows.

6. Your content

You own the records, notes and photos you add. You give Jodlio permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share them with. Don’t upload content you don’t have the right to share, or images containing other people’s sensitive information without their consent.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Jodlio for anything illegal, including fraud, money laundering or harassment;
• add people to groups or loans to deceive, pressure or spam them;
• upload unlawful, obscene or harmful content;
• try to access other people’s accounts or data, or interfere with the app, its servers or its security;
• copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service except as the law allows.

8. Fees

Jodlio is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you about the price and terms before you are charged anything.

9. Changes and availability

We work to keep Jodlio available and your data safe, but the service may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. We may add, change or remove features. If we stop offering Jodlio, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You can close your account at any time.

11. Disclaimers and liability

Jodlio is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not guarantee that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from records entered by you or other users, or from payments made outside Jodlio.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they apply. Continuing to use Jodlio after that means you accept the updated terms.
